Director of Customer Service and Operations
Foothill Transit, the primary fixed-route transit provider in eastern Los Angeles County, California is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Director of Customer Service and Operations. Foothill Transit’s mission is to be the premier public transit provider committed to safety, courtesy, quality, responsiveness, efficiency and innovation. We are an award-winning bus system with a fleet of over 359 vehicles and ridership exceeding 7 million annually.
This position reports to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer overseeing the day-to-day transit operations of Foothill Transit while verifying that contractors provide outstanding customer service. This individual serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in his/her absence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitoring the performance of Customer Service and Operations contractors
- Ensuring operations contractor compliance with terms of operating agreements

Supervision of Transit Operations, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and System Performance and Improvement functions

Managing activities related to the Computer-aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location system projects

Reviewing and analyzing operations contract compliance data and customer service data to support the development of performance improvement strategies

Development of the Customer Service and Operations Department annual budget

Development of the Transit Stores annual budget

Development of written materials for the public, policy makers and the Foothill Transit Executive Board

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with personnel and program management
- Experience with transit operations, customer service and/or transit planning.

Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Salary Range: Grade 8 $116,840 - $201,547
