Stay Safe In The Heat!
Follow these tips to stay healthy in the summertime heat.
Do you know what to do?
Stay cool in the So-Cal sun!
When you head out into the heat, make sure to bring with you a wide-brimmed hat; light, loose clothing, and plenty of water. Reduce your physical activity when it’s hot out. Eat smaller meals. And take a moment to check on neighbors and pets.
The sun is strongest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be careful! Watch for these warning signs that you’ve gotten too hot:
- You’re dizzy.
- You’re exhausted.
- You feel faint.
- Your head aches.
- Your muscles cramp.
- You’re really thirsty.
If you need a break from the heat, you can head to any of these cooling centers. Many are easily accessible by bus.
