The 5 Most Productive Ideas For A Public Transit Commute

When you travel by public transit, you can spend your commute time doing the things that really matter to you.

When you drive a car to work, that’s about all you can safely get done. If you commute by public transit, though, your time is yours! Here are 5 of the best things to do with that time.

1. Make yourself something.

We loved reading about Redditor “alkikat”, who crocheted her own wedding dress during her morning bus commute over a five-month period.

2. Communicate creatively.

One of our favorite examples of a better commute is the blogger October Jones. He has used his time to create happiness, whether it was turning his fellow commuters into cartoons or spreading positive attitudes.

3. Read.

Of course, there’s always reading! We have a few public transportation suggestions for what to read on the bus. What would you add?

4. Sleep.

Need we say more? Just try to stay in your own personal space. Unless, like this woman, you’re creating art.

5. Meditate.

You may have heard about the benefits of being more mindful throughout the day, but have you set aside time to meditate yet? Your commute is the perfect opportunity. Here are 8 easy steps if you’re not sure how to get started.

With a commute this productive, just imagine what you’ll accomplish with the rest of your day!
