The Great Shakeout!
Foothill Transit will again participate in the yearly Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill.
Here’s what to expect.
Foothill Transit will shake out with the Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill at 10:17 a.m. on Thursday, October 17. The Great California ShakeOut happens every year to remind us that the best way to stay safe in an earthquake zone is by being prepared. Foothill Transit is committed to safety. Here is how we will participate:
- Bus operators will announce the Great California ShakeOut drill and pull over for approximately 60 seconds if it is safe to do so.
- During that time, the operator will instruct you to turn away from the windows towards the aisles and to put your arms over your head for protection. This is what would happen in a real earthquake.
- The operator will continue with the trip after the drill is complete.
All local lines will participate in the drill.
