Foothill Transit Announces Changes To Executive Board
Foothill Transit's executive board has completed their yearly elections.
(WEST COVINA, CA) May 13, 2016 – Foothill Transit announces that Carol Herrera, Diamond Bar Councilmember, has been re-elected as the Foothill Transit Executive Board Chair for the next annual term from June 2016 through June 2017. Joining Herrera on the Executive Board are: Corey Calaycay, Claremont Councilmember, as Vice Chair; Corey Warshaw, West Covina Mayor Pro Tem, as Board Member; Cynthia Sternquist, Mayor Pro Tem of Temple City, as Board Member; and Sam Pedroza, representing The County of Los Angeles’ office of Hilda Solis, as Board Member.
In addition, the following board members are joining the Executive Board of Foothill Transit as alternate members: Paula Lantz, Pomona Councilmember; Cruz Baca, Baldwin Park Councilmember; Richard Barakat, Bradbury Councilmember; Valerie Muñoz, La Puente Mayor Pro Tem; and Michael De La Torre, representing The County of Los Angeles’ office of Michael D. Antonovich.
Foothill Transit is governed by a Joint Powers Authority of 22 member cities and the County of Los Angeles. The larger Governing Board is divided into five regional clusters that elect representatives once a year at the agency’s annual meeting to serve on a five-member Executive Board. Cluster 1 represents Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, San Dimas and Walnut. Cluster 2 represents Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale, and West Covina. Cluster 3 represents Arcadia, Bradbury, Duarte, Monrovia, Pasadena, and Temple City. Cluster 4 El Monte, Diamond Bar, Industry, La Puente, and South El Monte. Foothill Transit provides community-oriented, environmentally friendly bus service throughout Southern California’s San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys, including express bus routes to Pasadena and Downtown Los Angeles, providing 14 million bus rides each year.
