Energy Efficiency
We value sustainability on board our buses and off, so we aim for energy efficient buildings and practices. Our Covina Transit Center, for example, is net zero. In other words, the facility generates as much energy as it uses! All of the lighting fixtures at our City of Industry Park & Ride are LEDs, which use very little electricity. Our office overhead lighting is controlled by motion sensors, so they’re only on when in use. During Edison “Flex Alerts”, we turn the sensors off in common areas to use even less energy.
We also built a layover facility in DTLA with LADOT and AVTA so that our Commuter Express buses can stay downtown after the morning commute instead of returning to Pomona—68 miles round trip! Our employees even volunteer on an Eco Team to encourage going that extra mile, for example expertly loading office dishwashers so that the dishes don’t have to be rewashed.
We know you probably value sustainability, too. If you’re working from home instead of commuting, we wanted to share these home office energy efficiency tips with you. We’re all in this together!
