      El Monte Station construction closures

On Tuesday, April 20th, Los Angeles Metro will begin construction on a temporary bus terminal on the eastern side of El Monte Station.  This construction will close the southeast parking lot, removing approximately 450 parking spaces from El Monte Station.

To compensate for the loss of spaces, Metro is opening a parking lot at the former Chevrolet dealership next to the freeway on the west side of Santa Anita Avenue.  It is approximately a 10-minute walk from that parking lot back to the El Monte Station bus terminal.

This construction will continue until late summer, at which point the temporary bus terminal should be completed and the walk from the Chevrolet lot to the waiting buses will be shortened.  Until this cobstruction is complete, we advise customers who use El Monte Station for their commuting needs to plan ahead and allow for extra time to reach the bus terminal.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  Thank you for riding Foothill Transit.
