To buy a transfer on board using the new TAP card, follow these steps:

Step One: Insert your full fare AND transfer amount.
Step Two: Tap your TAP card on the blue circle.
Step Three: Ask the bus operator for a transfer.  They will press a button.
Step Four: Tap your TAP card in the circle AGAIN. Your TAP card is now properly loaded with your transfer. It is good for one use within two hours of purchase. 

Once you get your TAP card? KEEP IT. They are reusable. We start charging $2 for new TAP cards beginning September 1, 2009.  Get your TAP card when you buy a Foothill Transit 31-Day Pass or cash purse at any one of our five Foothill Transit Stores.
